Position Description
Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Warehouse Sit Down Forklift Operator in Wilmington, Illinois.
Warehouse Forklift Operator / Driver Positions Pay Weekly.
Compensation- Up to $28.50 per hour (including shift differentials and productivity incentives)
- Base pay: $18.50 per hour
- $0.25 per hour increases at 90 and 180 days and 3% increase after 1 year
- Overtime pay: $27.75 per hour
- Productivity incentives:
Up to $6 per hour - Sign‑on bonus: $1,000 bonus paid in two installments at 30 and 90 days
- Schedule:
Sun‑Tues 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM;
Wed 5:00 AM – 10:45 AM
- Products being handled:
Food products - Equipment:
Electric Sit‑Down Forklifts, Reach Truck, and RF scanners
- Warehouse positions pay each week

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least one year of related warehouse or powered industrial truck experience preferred
- Valid Forklift Operator’s License certified
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
- Highly thorough and dependable
- Must be punctual with a good attendance record
- Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision
- Possesses a high degree of initiative
- Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
- Can lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lb(s)
- Can stand for long periods of time
- Can work using health and safety methods
- Available to work on a flexible schedule across multiple shifts
- Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities- Perform warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
- Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
- Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading and unloading of trucks
- Responsible for day‑to‑day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading)
- Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production
- Perform other duties as assigned
