Position Description

Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Warehouse Sit Down Forklift Operator in Wilmington, Illinois.

Warehouse Forklift Operator / Driver Positions Pay Weekly.

• Up to $28.50 per hour (including shift differentials and productivity incentives)
• Base pay: $18.50 per hour
• $0.25 per hour increases at 90 and 180 days and 3% increase after 1 year
• Overtime pay: $27.75 per hour
• Productivity incentives:
  Up to $6 per hour
• Sign‑on bonus: $1,000 bonus paid in two installments at 30 and 90 days
• Schedule:
  
  Sun‑Tues 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM;
  Wed 5:00 AM – 10:45 AM

• Products being handled:
  Food products
• Equipment:
  Electric Sit‑Down Forklifts, Reach Truck, and RF scanners

• Warehouse positions pay each week

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• At least one year of related warehouse or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid Forklift Operator’s License certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Team player and able to work within a diverse work environment
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
• Highly thorough and dependable
• Must be punctual with a good attendance record
• Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision
• Possesses a high degree of initiative
• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
• Can lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lb(s)
• Can stand for long periods of time
• Can work using health and safety methods
• Available to work on a flexible schedule across multiple shifts
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

• Perform warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading and unloading of trucks
• Responsible for day‑to‑day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production
• Perform other duties as assigned
