Forklift Warehouse Operator

Position Description

Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Warehouse Sit Down Forklift Operator in Wilmington, Illinois.

• Base pay: $18.50 per hour
• $0.25 per hour increases at 90 and 180 days and a 3% increase after 1 year
• Overtime Pay: $27.75 per hour
• Shift Differentials:
  Up to $4 per hour depending on shift

• Sign‑on bonus: $1,000 paid in two installments at 30 and 90 days

• Shift A:
  Sun–Tues 5 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Wed 5 a.m.–10:45 a.m.
• Shift B:
  Sun–Tues 5 p.m.–4:30 a.m. and Wed 5 p.m.–10:45 p.m.
• Shift C:
  Wed 11 a.m.–4:45 p.m. and Thu–Sat 5 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
• Shift D:
  Wed 11 p.m.–4:45 a.m. and Thu–Sat 5 p.m.–4:30 a.m.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• At least one year of related warehouse or powered industrial truck experience (preferred)
• Valid forklift operator license
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Highly thorough, dependable, punctual, and with good attendance
• Independent work with minimal supervision
• High initiative and accuracy, even under pressure
• Can lift or push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods
• Familiar with health and safety methods
• Flexible schedule and willingness to work various shifts
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Complete duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Accurately pick and pack, audit, and stage products for truck loading and unloading.
• Handle day‑to‑day paperwork such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
