Position Description

Permanent Full Time Warehouse Sit Down Forklift Operator in Wilmington, Illinois

Ryder is immediately hiring for this role.

• Base pay: $21.00 per hour
• 3% increase after 1 year
• Overtime Pay: $31.50 per hour
• Shift Differentials:
  Up to $4 per hour depending on shift

• A:
  Sun‑Tues 5a–4:30p and Wed 5a–10:45a
• B:
  Sun‑Tues 5p‑4:30a and Wed 5p–10:45p
• C:
  Wed 11a‑4:45p and Thur‑Sat 5a‑4:30p
• D:
  Wed 11p–4:45a and Thur‑Sat 5p–4:30a

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid Forklift Operator's License
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work within a diverse work environment
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization
• Highly thorough and dependable
• Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
• Performs work independently with minimal supervision
• Possess a high degree of initiative
• Demonstrates high level of accuracy, even under pressure
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work using health and safety methods
• Must be available to work on a flexible schedule on the various shifts
• Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Responsible for accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks
• Responsible for day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for aspects related to automated packing system during core shift hour of production
• Performs other duties as assigned
