Position Description

Permanent full‑time Warehouse Sit‑Down Forklift Operator at Ryder in Wilmington, Illinois.

Compensation
  • Base pay: $21.00 per hour
  • 3% increase after 1 year
  • Overtime pay: $31.50 per hour
  • Shift differentials: up to $4 per hour depending on shift
Schedule
  • A:
    Sun‑Tues 5:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Wed 5:00 a.m.–10:45 a.m.
  • B:
    Sun‑Tues 5:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m. and Wed 5:00 p.m.–10:45 p.m.
  • C:
    Wed 11:00 a.m.–4:45 p.m. and Thu‑Sat 5:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • D:
    Wed 11:00 p.m.–4:45 a.m. and Thu‑Sat 5:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m.
Responsibilities
  • Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
  • Operate in accordance with performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
  • Ensure accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks.
  • Handle day‑to‑day paperwork (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
  • Valid forklift operator's license.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Team player who can work within a diverse environment.
  • Highly thorough and dependable.
  • Good attendance record and punctual.
  • Initiative and high accuracy, even under pressure.
  • Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Work using health and safety methods.
  • Flexible schedule across various shifts.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.
