What we need

As the Manager, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting, you will lead key aspects of the Company’s external financial reporting process, SEC filings, technical accounting research, implementation of new accounting standards, and accounting for complex and non‑routine transactions. The role requires strong U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to partner across Finance, Legal, Investor Relations, Internal Audit, and business operations.

This position reports to the Director, Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting and ensures compliance with accounting and reporting requirements for a publicly traded technology company.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10‑Q, 10‑K, 8‑K, Proxy Statements, and other required filings.

  • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and supporting disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.

  • Lead or support XBRL tagging and review processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with SEC requirements.

  • Monitor SEC rule changes and emerging reporting requirements, assess impacts on the Company.

  • Serve as a Finance partner to external auditors and legal counsel during quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SEC filing activities.

  • Lead the research, documentation, and conclusion of complex accounting matters under U.S. GAAP and provide recommendations to Finance leadership.

  • Prepare technical accounting memoranda supporting accounting positions for significant and non‑routine transactions, including:

    • Revenue recognition (ASC 606)
    • Business combinations (ASC 805)
    • Goodwill and intangible assets (ASC 350)
    • Stock‑based compensation (ASC 718)
    • Debt and equity transactions (ASC 718)
    • Leases (ASC 842)
    • Warrants and other financial instruments (ASC 815)
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards and disclosure requirements, including assessment of business impacts and required process changes.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to cross‑functional stakeholders by assessing accounting implications of strategic initiatives, commercial arrangements, and other business transactions.

  • Lead technical accounting and financial reporting activities supporting the monthly and quarterly close process and support the preparation and review of quarterly earnings releases.

  • Support the design, execution, and continuous improvement of internal controls over financial reporting in compliance with SOX requirements.

  • Partner with Finance and Internal Audit teams on control design, documentation, testing support, optimize reporting tools, financial systems, and reporting processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting efficiency, automation, documentation, as well as maintain accounting policies, technical accounting documentation, and reporting procedures.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including:
    • Public accounting experience with a Big Four or national accounting firm.
    • Experience supporting SEC reporting and technical accounting for a publicly traded company.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance.
  • Experience researching and documenting accounting positions for complex transactions.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex accounting matters to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management capabilities.
  • Hybrid role based in Wilmington, MA (2 days a week).

Our Environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi‑weekly.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $–$; compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience. The package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO, and other benefits.
