KBW Financial has partnered with an established, growing organization in the field services industry in its search for a Director of Finance & Administration.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the financial operations of a business while also leading people, improving processes, and partnering directly with ownership and executive leadership.
The Director of Finance & Administration will serve as the company's senior finance leader, with responsibility for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, cash flow, budgeting, tax coordination, systems, and administrative operations. This person will also lead a small team and play an important role in building the processes and infrastructure needed to support the company's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities- Own the company's full-cycle accounting function, including AP, AR, invoicing, general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
- Manage cash flow, banking activity, budgeting, financial planning, and expense management, providing leadership with visibility into the financial health of the business.
- Lead and develop a small team, including regular 1:1s, coaching, performance management, hiring, and onboarding.
- Oversee high-volume customer invoicing and collections, ensuring accurate billing and timely cash flow.
- Manage relationships with external accounting and tax providers, supporting annual filings, reporting requirements, and other compliance matters.
- Own and continuously improve financial systems, processes, internal controls, and SOPs, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Oversee corporate insurance administration, including company policies and subcontractor/vendor certificates of insurance.
- Partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to break down operational silos, improve communication, and drive process improvements throughout the organization.
- Serve as a hands-on business partner who can move comfortably between strategic financial leadership and day-to-day execution.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including prior people-management responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience owning full-cycle accounting within a smaller or mid-sized organization where leaders remain hands-on.
- Strong knowledge of AP, AR, GL, month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Quick Books Online and expertise required.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing small teams.
- Experience with in HVAC, construction, trades, field services, manufacturing, or another operations-heavy environment strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) and Service Trade is a plus.
Salary - $110-130k base
