Overview
This is a contract position for a STEM Tutor located on-site in Wilmington, MA. The STEM Tutor will provide individualized tutoring sessions to support students in subjects including science, math, english language arts, and mathematics. Responsibilities include designing lesson plans based on student needs, explaining complex concepts in an accessible way, tracking student progress, and collaborating with other tutors or educators when necessary.
The role requires fostering a supportive learning environment to help students achieve academic success. Parent communication and alignment with classroom support (and IEPs/evals, if applicable), which may involve communication with students’ teachers is critical.

Qualifications- Strong knowledge and expertise in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, or educational instruction, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students and parents, as well as provide regular feedback on progress
- Skills in developing engaging lesson plans and adapting teaching methods to fit individual learning styles
- Problem-solving and organizational abilities to manage multiple students and track their academic performance
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field or current enrollment in such a program; advanced degrees are a plus
- Prior experience working with students of varying academic levels will be a strong advantage
- Experience writing and implenenting IEPs
