• Plan and implement the physical education and health curriculum for Grades 4‑5.
• Evaluate individual students using department‑developed assessment tools and maintain up‑to‑date records of student progress.
• Collaborate with the PreK‑12 physical education & health department to review, develop, and execute a rigorous district curriculum aligned to state standards, including development and facilitation of MARC and Human Growth and Development units.
• Create a positive, inviting, and safe learning environment while modeling enthusiasm for learning.
• Develop, model, and practice class procedures and routines.
• Modify instructional practices to meet individual student needs.
• Communicate high expectations to all learners and set realistic, consistent expectations for student behavior, applying appropriate consequences.
• Perform other duties assigned by the principal.

• Current Massachusetts teacher licensure in Physical Education and Health/Family & Consumer Sciences.
• Knowledge of current best practices in physical education and health education.
• Understanding of scientifically based research and evidence‑based practices for teaching students and assessing progress toward achievement of standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

This position is full‑time and offers a salary range of $57,271 to $109,685 per year.
