General Function

The Lead Instructor Coordinator prepares and conducts EMT training programs for the general public in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Action Ambulance policies. Central to this role is a strong commitment to a student-focused learning environment, ensuring each student is supported, engaged, and set up for success. The ultimate goal is not only to educate, but to inspire, mentor, and prepare students to pursue employment within the EMS field—ideally within the Action Ambulance organization.

Major

Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused EMS educator who is committed to delivering high-quality training while fostering the next generation of EMS professionals. In this role, you will demonstrate a consistent student-first approach, ensuring every learner feels supported, challenged, and fully prepared for real-world EMS practice. You will cultivate an engaging educational environment that not only builds clinical competence but also encourages students to envision a long-term career in EMS, with an emphasis on recruiting and retaining top talent within the organization.

Through high-quality instruction, you will provide clinical training and education to both students and members of the public, emphasizing hands‑on skills, critical thinking, and professional development.

As a key member of the training team, you will serve as both a mentor and liaison to students and faculty, guiding individuals through their educational journey while helping them identify and pursue career opportunities within the EMS system. You will integrate real-world EMS expectations, culture, and values into the classroom to ensure alignment between training and employment readiness. This includes identifying high‑potential students and supporting their transition into operational roles.

Additionally, you will ensure all training, record keeping, and course evaluations remain compliant with OEMS A/R 2-200 standards for an Accredited Training Institution.

This position also includes oversight of instructional support staff, including the assignment and scheduling of Instructor Coordinators and Teaching Assistants to ensure a consistent, high‑quality student experience. You will provide ongoing clinical education to First Responders, contracted partners, and internal team members, including the delivery of Continuing Education (Con Ed) and NCCR training as required. Strong communication, professionalism, and alignment with organizational values are essential, as you will collaborate closely with team members while representing the standards of Action Ambulance.
