DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and implement the physical education & health curriculum for grades 9-12
• Evaluate individual students using department-developed common assessment tools, maintain up-to-date records of student progress
• Collaborate with members of the PreK-12 Physical Education & Health department to review,develop and execute a rigorous district curriculum aligned to state standards
• Create a positive, inviting, and safe learning environment while modeling enthusiasm for learning
• Develop, model, and practice class procedures and routines
• Modify instructional practices to meet individual student needs
• Communicate high expectations to all learners, as well as realistic and consistent expectations for student behavior and applies appropriate consequences
• Other duties as assigned by building administrators

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $314 to $314 Per Day

• EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: 1-2 years teaching high school physical education and health
• ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification in Physical Education & Health, 9
  -12
• Knowledge of current best practices in physical education & health education
• Understanding of scientifically based research and evidence-based practices for teaching students
• Knowledge of best practices for assessing student progress toward achievement of standard
• Excellent communication skills
• Current Certification in CPR
• At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
