Qualifications & Skills:
  • Hold a valid Special Education teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field required;
    Masters degree preferred
  • Prior experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a classroom environment
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
  • Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to equitable education for all students
Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students unique academic and developmental needs
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and modify instructional approaches as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure all students are set up for success
  • Facilitate IEP meetings and contribute observations and recommendations
  • Employ research-based strategies and interventions to support social, emotional, and behavioral growth
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and constructive classroom community
