Key Responsibilities:
Safety Metrics & Reporting
Analyze safety performance data related to equipment operation, near-misses, and incidents.
Maintain and update safety dashboards; identify trends and areas for improvement.
Generate and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety reports to EHS leadership.
Audits & Compliance
Assist in conducting regular safety audits of warehouses, yards, and location branches.
Inspect forklift and heavy equipment operations for compliance with OSHA 1910/1926 standards.
Support metrics, help develop reports to be used for action planning and follow-up for audit findings.
Training & Development
Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for new hires and existing employees, including:
Forklift and powered industrial truck operation
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Fall protection
PPE usage
Hazard communication (Haz Com/GHS)
Maintain/Schedule and track training records and ensure all certifications are current and compliant.
Conduct refresher training and toolbox talks based on incident trends and audit findings.
Maintain training databases.
Collaborate with supervisors to identify training needs and develop site-specific safety content.
Support onboarding safety orientation for new employees.
Safety Communication
Develop and distribute weekly safety messages focused on equipment operation, PPE, and hazard awareness.
Help implement corrective actions and follow-up procedures.
Promote employee engagement through safety recognition programs and feedback loops.
Operational Support
Monitor and support safe practices in service areas, maintenance bays, and work areas.
Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Help implement corrective actions and follow-up procedures.
Help maintain safety documentation, including equipment inspection logs and training records, Report on status of Metrics for the safety Team
Qualifications:
The pursuit of an associate or bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of safety experience in a construction, industrial, or equipment-heavy maintenance environment.
Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, especially those related to powered industrial trucks and construction equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel to regional job sites and facilities 25%.
Preferred
Skills:
OSHA 30-Hour Certification (General Industry or Construction).
Experience with EHS software (e.g., AIC, Dayforce, or similar).
Forklift operator certification or experience is a plus.
Bilingual (English/Spanish/French) is a strong asset.
Experience developing or delivering hands-on safety training.
Compensation Range: $65,. This range is regarding base pay only and does not include benefits and potential bonuses. Overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographical location, skillset, education, and experience.
