Key Responsibilities
  • Commission and validate audiovisual systems in corporate and enterprise environments
  • Configure, program, test, and tune AV systems to meet design intent and performance specifications
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting across hardware, software, control systems, networking, and signal flow
  • Identify and resolve system issues that could delay handoff or impact end‑user experience
  • Perform comprehensive system testing of:
    • Audio systems, including DSP configuration, tuning, gain structure, and feedback mitigation
    • Video systems, including signal flow validation, resolution, scaling, and performance verification
    • Control systems, room logic, and automation behavior
  • Load, validate, and adjust control and DSP code in platforms such as Crestron, Q‑SYS, Biamp, Extron, and similar systems
  • Validate AV networking configuration, including:
    • Dante and other AV‑over‑IP technologies
    • VLANs, QoS, and multicast behavior (as applicable)
    • Proper device communication and signal routing
  • Participate in punch‑list walkthroughs and final acceptance testing
  • Produce commissioning documentation, test reports, and as‑built updates
  • Support system handoff and basic end‑user training as required
  • Travel to project sites throughout Boston and New Hampshire
Top Skills & Technical Expectations
  • Advanced Troubleshooting & System Diagnostics
  • Ability to quickly isolate and resolve issues across hardware, software, control systems, networking, and signal flow
  • Strong diagnostic approach that prevents projects from stalling during commissioning
  • Confidence addressing complex system interactions under real‑world conditions
  • Strong Understanding of AV Networking & Signal Flow
  • Fluency in modern, IP‑based AV environments
  • Hands‑on experience with Dante and other AV‑over‑IP technologies
  • Working knowledge of VLANs, QoS, multicast behavior, and networked device communication
  • Ability to validate that signals move correctly and systems are configured as designed
  • Hands‑On Experience with Major Control & DSP Platforms
  • Practical experience working with platforms such as Crestron, Q‑SYS, Biamp, Extron, or similar
  • Ability to load existing code, adjust DSP blocks, verify control logic, and tune systems to specification
  • Does not require full custom programming skills, but must be highly effective in system‑level configuration and verification
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in professional AV engineering or systems integration
  • Proven, hands‑on experience commissioning AV systems (not install-only)
  • Strong understanding of AV signal flow, system architecture, and performance validation
  • Experience working in networked AV environments
  • Ability to read and validate AV drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to travel locally throughout the Boston and NH markets
Preferred / Nice To Have
  • CTS, CTS‑D, or CTS‑I certification
