Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer
Overview
We are looking to hire a Co‑Op starting in July and working through December 2026. Storion Energy is a joint venture between Stryten Energy and Largo inc. and is at the forefront of commercializing Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFBs) within the United States. Largo is a vanadium mining company with the only western‑friendly vanadium mine in the world, located in Brazil.
Stryten is a leading lead‑acid battery manufacturer supplying energy storage solutions to the automotive, industrial, and stationary power markets. Storion Energy was formed from the VRFB divisions of each company and is focused on supplying specialty VRFB components to the long‑duration energy storage (LDES) market. We are uniquely positioned to drive down costs to allow new entrants into the flow battery market, which will drive competition with lithium‑based LDES products.
VRFB LDES products help address renewable energy intermittency issues, provide grid resiliency, and enable a cleaner electricity grid. This position pays $25 per hour.
The Mechanical Engineering Co‑Op will support Storion’s product development team with a focus on our battery stack development needs. This individual will support product design initiatives, VRFB stack manufacturing support, VRFB stack testing, and work on other projects as needed. Storion’s product development facility is located in Wilmington, MA, and we are seeking a full‑time co‑op to support our cutting‑edge product development efforts.
This is an in‑person role, and the successful candidate is expected to be in the office 5 days per week. The Mechanical Engineering Co‑Op will work under the direct supervision and guidance of Senior Engineers in support of Engineering projects.
