Akkodis is seeking an R&D Engineer Aid job with a client in Wilmington, MA. Must hold an Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent to be considered. Will support design engineers by conducting evaluations, building prototypes, and testing new products, particularly in industries like power supply or medical devices. Will maintain documentation, analyze data, and assist in refining designs, often requiring knowledge of analog circuits, CAD, and lab equipment.
Salary Range: $70/k to $80/k. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of Engineers to perform a variety of complex and specialized technical tasks. Support Design Engineers in the design and development of new power supply products, as well as the sustaining and improvement of existing products. Conduct evaluations, qualifications, and comprehensive testing on power supply designs.
- This role is responsible for generating detailed test reports and complete documentation packages for all new products. The position also requires effective interaction with internal teams to address and resolve product-related issues.
- Prototyping & Testing:
Build and evaluate prototype power supplies or mechanical components, conducting comprehensive tests to verify design requirements. - Documentation & Reporting:
Generate detailed test reports, maintain documentation packages, and update engineering records. - Technical Support:
Support design engineers with PCB layouts, circuit simulations, and troubleshooting during development. - Lab Management:
Operate and maintain standard electronic laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and electronic loads.
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent is required.
- Minimum Five years related experience
- Strong knowledge of analog and/or power electronics circuits
- Proficiency with standard electronic laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, and power supplies
- Solid understanding of schematics, PCB layouts, circuit simulations, assembly drawings, and test specifications
- Knowledge of electronic component types and ratings, including voltage, power, and current relationships; basic op-amp theory; and transistor operation
- Excellent soldering and circuit prototyping skills
- Ability to understand, follow, and execute both verbal and written instructions
- Good computer skills, including the ability to access and utilize information from existing database systems
