Are you a seasoned engineer who loves solving non‑routine challenges, leading complex system designs, and influencing cross‑functional teams? This Sr. Mechanical Application Engineer role puts you at the center of high‑impact, custom assembly and system development projects from concept through production.
You will operate as a key technical leader, owning advanced system layouts, guiding design decisions, and ensuring alignment across Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, and Production. If you enjoy tackling ambiguity, elevating design quality, and mentoring developing engineers, this role offers the autonomy and technical depth you thrive on.
What You Will Lead- Complex system design from concept through production for custom assemblies
- Advanced mechanical layouts that meet customer specs and manufacturing constraints
- Cross‑functional alignment across Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production
- Technical problem solving for manufacturability, supply chain, and design challenges
- Review and approval of drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
- Design efficiency and standardization improvements across the engineering function
- Mentorship of Associate and Application Engineers
- Vendor collaboration for specialized or non‑standard components
- Customer technical support to clarify requirements and ensure solution alignment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 5 to 8 years in application engineering, mechanical design, or manufacturing engineering
- Proven experience leading complex projects or major technical work streams
- Strong background in fluid systems, instrumentation, and assembly processes
- Advanced proficiency in CAD (Solid Works)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity
- Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive alignment
- Strong business acumen related to cost, lead time, and operational impact
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently while escalating high‑risk issues appropriately
