Job Description
Principal Engineer, Power Systems Engineering – a fast‑paced role focused on using Analog Devices’ portfolio of high‑performance power products to solve engineering challenges across a wide range of applications. Responsibilities include developing system‑level solutions and reference designs for power electronics, troubleshooting customer hardware, and collaborating closely with design teams, FAEs, and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Possess first‑rate understanding of power electronics and power supply design.
- Support power requirements for customer applications in markets such as Power Conversion, Multiphase Controllers, PoL, etc.
- Recommend new power product features, topologies, control algorithms, and feature sets to meet customer needs and differentiate Analog Devices.
- Create collateral such as technical documents and system‑level reference designs to support strategic market initiatives.
- Build internal and external relationships while working closely with customers and design teams across business units to deliver power system solutions or reference designs.
- BSEE required; MSEE preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
- 10+ years (or equivalent) with system‑level power management products and applications.
- Direct experience with low‑voltage, high‑current power applications in mixed‑signal environments.
- Strong knowledge of high‑performance isolated and non‑isolated DC‑DC converters across a wide range of markets.
- Detailed understanding of analog circuit design for signal chains, analog front ends, ADCs, and DACs.
- Strong lab test and measurement skills, including high‑voltage/high‑power lab safety.
- Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, electronic loads, spectrum/network analyzers, etc.) and software (Python, Lab View).
- Hands‑on experience with printed circuit board layout, fabrication, electrical characteristics, and electronic assembly practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting lab reports, product application notes, and technical drawings.
- Open to travel as necessary.
- Travel: 10% of the time.
- Shift Type: 1st Shift/Days.
- Compensation:
Expected wage range for a new hire is $157,080 to $227,460. - Rewards:
Discretionary performance‑based bonus and benefits including medical, vision, dental coverage, 401(k), paid vacation, holidays, and sick time. - Export Licensing:
For positions requiring access to technical data, non‑US citizens or non‑permanent residents may be subject to export licensing review.
