This client is a product development consultancy specializing in advanced life sciences and automation systems in the Greater Boston area. This is a full-time Mid-level Electrical Engineer role focused on control panel design, PLC/HMI programming, and automated test systems. The environment is centered around industrial automation tools and technology.

This role offers ownership across the electrical design lifecycle. You will be building systems from schematic design through panel layout, wiring, testing, and field debugging. This opportunity is very hands‑on, and you will work directly with control systems, motion hardware, and test fixtures while helping define how machines perform in a real production environment.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering (industrial automation, machine building, or robotics)
  • Experience designing electrical control panels, schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMS
  • Strong understanding of low voltage power systems up to 480 VAC
  • PLC/HMI programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, or equivalent)
  • Ability to troubleshoot full control systems
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols. (Ether Net, IP, Modbus, CANopen, EtherCAT)
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Motion control experience (BLDC, servo, stepper, encoders, motion controllers, and closed-loop tuning)
  • Proficiency with electrical design tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Solid Works Electrical)
  • Experience with ECO/PLM workflows for engineering change control
  • Scripting or automation experience with (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB)

  • 15% field troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and system support
