Position:
Senior Principal Engineer, Power Systems Design/Architect

Analog Devices’ Power Solutions Group is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Principal Power Systems Design/Architect to lead a team of power solutions architects aligned to our highest-growth application domains. This role will be responsible for translating market and customer problems into scalable power architectures, solution platforms, and product strategies that position ADI as a system-level partner in industrial, robotics, automation, sensing and actuation growth segments.

The successful candidate will lead a small team of senior power architects, each accountable for key growth domain areas. The leader will set the technical direction, drive the operating model and architecture standards for the team while working closely with product line management, system engineering, applications, field teams, business development, design engineering, test, evaluation, and customers. Consistent with Sr. Principal System Architect expectations, the role spans concept definition, architecture, development support, validation, customer engagement, product release readiness, and post-release solution support.

The role requires a combination of deep power systems expertise, strong customer-facing architecture capability, commercial judgment, and the ability to influence product roadmaps across multiple business units.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership and Operating Model Lead, coach, and develop a team of power system architects, with clear ownership assigned by growth domain area.
  • Establish a consistent architecture process for capturing customer problems, defining system requirements, identifying power tree trade-offs, and translating insights into product and solution opportunities.
  • Create a high-performance technical culture that balances deep domain expertise, customer intimacy, commercial impact, and execution discipline.
  • System Architecture and Solution Definition Define scalable power architectures for strategic growth domains, including power conversion, protection, isolation, telemetry, sequencing, monitoring, functional safety, energy efficiency, and system control considerations.
  • Translate customer application requirements into system-level solution proposals, reference architectures, technology roadmaps, and new product concepts, including clear problem statements, system requirements, architecture trade-offs, and feature-set recommendations.
  • Lead architecture reviews for priority opportunities, ensuring proposed solutions are technically credible, differentiated, manufacturable, supportable, and aligned with ADI’s portfolio strategy and customer use-case requirements.
  • Portfolio Strategy and Product Definition Partner with product line management, marketing, system engineering, applications, and business development to identify portfolio gaps, prioritize investment areas, and shape new product roadmaps.
  • Convert architecture insights into business cases, product requirements, platform strategies, design-in campaigns, and customer-facing value propositions.
  • Participate in the definition of new products in close collaboration with customers, design, marketing, product line management, and applications teams, ensuring architecture insights are translated into actionable product requirements.
  • Influence cross-business-unit product planning where growth-domain solutions require multiple ADI technologies, including power, precision signal chain, sensing, isolation, connectivity, and embedded intelligence.
  • Customer Engagement and Business Development Engage directly with strategic customers to understand application roadmaps, uncover unmet power system needs, and position ADI solutions at the architecture level.
  • Support field teams and FAEs with domain-specific power architecture guidance, differentiated solution narratives, competitive positioning, and technical escalation support.
  • Represent the Power Solutions Group in executive customer discussions, design-in reviews, roadmap workshops, technical conferences, internal strategy forums, and new project proposal generation.
  • Execution, Enablement, and Technical Collateral Drive creation of reusable reference architectures, power trees, design guides, simulation models, evaluation platforms, training material, customer-facing collateral, product datasheet inputs, and detailed architecture guidelines.
  • Ensure lessons learned from customer…
