About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes that enable the production of innovative semiconductor technologies and products. Working in a cross-functional environment, you will collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and manufacturing teams to improve process performance, product quality, yield, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and production processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, product quality, reliability, and yield through data-driven analysis and problem solving.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, Operations, Quality, Test Engineering, and Product Engineering to address manufacturing challenges and support product development activities.
- Analyze process performance and manufacturing data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to process qualification, validation, and production readiness activities for new and existing products.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process specifications, and standard operating procedures.
- Support risk assessment and mitigation efforts to ensure successful product and process implementation.
- Apply statistical methods and engineering principles to optimize processes and improve operational performance.
- Assist with new product introduction (NPI), process transfers, and manufacturing scale-up activities.
- Participate in troubleshooting efforts and drive corrective and preventive actions to resolve technical issues.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, process engineering, production operations, or industrial systems through coursework, projects, internships, or work experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical and process-related data.
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals, process improvement methodologies, and manufacturing principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, operations engineering, production engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related methodologies.
- Experience with manufacturing, assembly, semiconductor, process development, test, or production environments through internships, academic projects, or industry experience.
- Exposure to manufacturing execution systems (MES), data analysis tools, or process monitoring systems.
- Familiarity with CAD software, engineering analysis tools, or process simulation tools.
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI), process qualification, or manufacturing transfer activities.
- Knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, failure analysis, or continuous improvement techniques.
- Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State
