Job Overview

Symbotic seeks a Remote Operations Center (ROC) Operator who will remotely monitor and support automated material handling systems, coordinate on‑site troubleshooting, and drive continuous improvement across our robotic network.

• Remotely monitor automation system performance and availability, collaborating with on‑site teams.
• Enhance control‑center operations through proactive communication, workflow acceleration, and expedited incident response.
• Manage specific automation use cases, determining optimal actions to maintain uptime, performance, and availability.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures to support performance improvements.
• Act as a professional team player, working effectively with technology, operations, and on‑site personnel.
• Participate in continuous improvement, standardization, and overall warehouse automation enhancement initiatives.
• Define best practices and design operating‑model procedures for the ROC.
• Communicate and troubleshoot software issues with off‑site Symbotic software engineers and on‑site Symbotic and customer teams.
• Build expertise in system interrelations and consequences by becoming a remote software specialist.
• Assess causes of automated robotic vehicle failures, review log files, document findings, and alert service personnel.

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of experience in a computer or automation environment.
• Strong knowledge of automation, warehousing, and business processes.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and assist team members.
• Positive response to critical feedback and recognition.
• Ability to multi‑task and perform multiple job functions simultaneously.
• High sense of urgency, detail-oriented communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills to motivate cross‑functional or cross‑facility groups.
• Capability to direct and guide employees in daily standard work.
• Proficiency in developing standards, processes, and documentation using data‑driven decision making.
• Understanding of system performance drivers, ability to report trends and present solutions.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Position is 100% onsite at Wilmington, MA.
• Shift‑based role with typical 12‑hour shifts; shift schedule determined by team and customer needs.
• Up to 5% travel required; travel during onboarding may be 100%.
• Valid driver’s license required; may involve driving or flying to customer locations.
• Travel expenses reimbursed bi‑weekly; employee covers costs with a personal credit card.
• ROC operates 24/7; may work independently in office or at night.
• Physical demands include stair climbing, working near high railings, exposure to varying temperatures (32°F–105°F), and working at heights up to 45 feet within restricted spaces.
• Must comply with safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and fall protection procedures.

Salary range: $71,000.00 – $97,900.00. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO, and additional company benefits.
