Buyer IIEnergetiq is the high technology, ultra-bright light source division of Hamamatsu Corp., a Japanese optical components and systems company. At Energetiq we are growing our market presence by introducing breakthrough products using our patented, ultra-bright Laser-Driven Light Source (LDLS™) and Electrodeless Z-Pinch™ EUV technologies. These technologies are used in a variety of markets such as high-end computer chip manufacturing, sensor testing for cell phones, and in a variety of drug discovery and medical applications.

Location: This position is onsite and is based in Wilmington, MA

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Buyer II to join our growing Supply Chain team in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for purchasing production materials, electronic components, and supporting manufacturing operations through effective supplier management, order execution, and inventory control.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, analytical, and thrives in a collaborative environment. You will work closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering and Inventory Control to ensure materials are available to support production schedules while maintaining cost, quality, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure production materials, electronic components, and indirect materials to support manufacturing requirements.
• Execute purchase orders and monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery.
• Expedite open purchase orders and proactively resolve supply chain constraints.
• Collaborate with the Master Scheduler to support production build schedules.
• Review material requirements and demand signals to maintain continuity of supply.
• Investigate and resolve supplier delivery discrepancies, shortages, quality issues, and invoice-related concerns.
• Support engineering change orders (ECOs), new product introductions (NPI), and component transitions.
• Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and lead-time information within the ERP system.
• Develop strong supplier relationships and assist with negotiations related to cost, lead time, and service improvements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory management, supplier performance, and procurement processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing, buying, planning, or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management processes.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and business software applications.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively across departments.

The compensation salary range for this role is $68,000 to $81,500. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
