Position Summary:
The Manager/Senior Manager of Accounting oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient management of accounting processes. This role is responsible for leading a team of accountants and collaborating across departments to support financial planning and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and oversee daily operations of the general accounting function, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany, and payroll.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with external auditors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to support audit and compliance activities.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Support ERP system upgrades and financial system integrations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g. Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Skills:
- Experience in a publicly traded or global company.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities.
