Join May Institute as the Executive Director of our May School in Wilmington, Massachusetts. In this influential leadership role, you will guide a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional educational and clinical services to students with autism and developmental disabilities.

Role Overview

As Executive Director, you will provide the clinical, educational, operational, and strategic leadership needed to deliver high-quality, evidence-based services. You will oversee the school’s day-to-day operations and collaborate with executive leadership, educators, clinicians, and support teams to strengthen student outcomes, staff development, program quality, and long-term sustainability.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead strategy and operations: Establish and advance the school’s clinical, educational, and operational priorities in alignment with May Institute’s mission and long-term vision.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams: Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture while overseeing staff hiring, onboarding, supervision, evaluation, mentoring, training, and ongoing development.
  • Advance quality and innovation: Strengthen ABA-based educational and clinical practices, incorporate emerging research, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that promote safe, high-quality student outcomes.
  • Guide financial strategy: Partner with executive leadership to develop and manage the school’s annual budget and support sustainable enrollment and census goals.
  • Expand education and training opportunities: Develop undergraduate internships, BCBA trainee programs, predoctoral internships, postdoctoral fellowships, and teacher preparation programs.
  • Ensure ethical and regulatory compliance: Deliver services in accordance with professional ethical standards and all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
What You Bring
  • Master’s degree in special education, behavior analysis, or related field required;
    Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred.
  • 7 + years of experience serving in a leadership role in an educational setting.
  • Significant experience with productive staff management, supervision, and mentoring resulting in strong teams and improved outcomes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ABA philosophy, principles, and procedures; commitment to continuing to develop ABA expertise; commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.

Compensation:

We recognize and reward your expertise: $135,000-$140,000
