Position Summary
CNC Maintenance Technician II role is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all aspects in an industrial manufacturing setting. Ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency within the facility. This role supports a preventative maintenance program and responds to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production flow. In this role you will diagnose root cause, disassemble, repair, reassemble equipment or piping and make necessary adjustments regularly.
You will work under minimal supervision, independently and as part of a team. The CNC Maintenance Mechanic II is expected to improve maintenance techniques and operations. This role requires performing responsibilities in alignment with Tecomet’s safety policies, continuous improvement principles, customer-driven innovation and culture while meeting established financial and performance metrics.
- Visually inspect CNC machinery, equipment, piping and perform routine scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Discuss machine operation with team, production and management to diagnose equipment problems.
- Troubleshot mechanical equipment failures or leaks from piping through component disassembly and inspection.
- Use technical documentation to aid in troubleshooting.
- Read safety warnings, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals for equipment.
- Review with team previous failures to aid in root cause discovery.
- Follow up on repairs with equipment, communicate with production, observe and monitor.
- Perform proper alignment checks and mechanical clearances to ensure correct operation.
- Research, develop, and document new critical spare parts for equipment or identify proper lubrication techniques and intervals for equipment.
- Perform plumbing as needed, including laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems and associated hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repairs and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related components to ensure proper system operation.
- Provide guidance to other maintenance personnel.
- Apply common sense, understand safety while carrying out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Work in conjunction with outside contractors.
- Work well under pressure and remain flexible in changing schedules and demands.
- Perform additional duties or special projects as required, assigned by supervisor or manager.
High School diploma or equivalent, vocational / technical training preferred.
Qualification Requirements- 3-5 years of hands‑on experience in industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Driver’s license is required.
- Provided forklift training, passing certification is required.
- Understanding of safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA compliance).
- Journeyman’s card is desirable.
- OSHA safety training or other relevant industry certifications preferred.
- Understanding of industrial safety practices, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex equipment issues.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, pneumatics and hydraulic systems using safe troubleshooting practices.
- Experience with equipment alignment, calibration, and precision measurements.
- Understanding of lubrication systems and best practices.
- Basic welding, cutting, and metal fabrication skills desirable.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and maintenance schedules.
- Attention to detail, catching small problems before becoming major issues.
- Excellent communication, reporting issues, collaborating with team.
- Ability to work as a team or independently under minimal supervision.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and production demands.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with maintenance management systems.
