Manufacturing Technician
Location:
Wilmington, MA 01887
Duration: 12+ months
Pay Range: $30-$40/h on W2
Shift: 6:00AM-3:30PM some flexibility (7:00AM start at the latest.
We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician in our Silicon Carbide Foundry that will play a key role in producing high-quality Silicon Carbide ceramic components for space flight applications. This position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate and maintain highly industrial machinery with precision and care. Our business operates at a low volume, which means production demands can fluctuate.
You must be adaptable and able to take initiative during slower periods by training in other areas or participating in improvement projects. The work environment is safe but can be dusty, and you must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs on your own. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality are essential in this role, as the parts you help produce are critical to space missions.
Essential Functions:
Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial machinery used in the casting and processing of Silicon Carbide ceramics
Follow detailed work instructions, read drawings and/or schematics per industry specifications, and quality standards to ensure all products meet strict space flight requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or process issues to minimize downtime and maintain product quality
Perform inspections and measurements to verify product specifications and document results accurately
Adapt to changing production schedules and business needs, including participating in cross-training and improvement projects during slower periods
Safely handle and move materials and components weighing up to 50 lbs
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and environmental protocols
Work effectively in a dusty environment while using appropriate personal protective equipment
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to support continuous improvement and resolve production challenges
Participate in ongoing training to develop new skills and support other areas of the foundry as needed
Abilty to get a Secret Clearance required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Good computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel,Word and PowerPoint.
Education & Experience
Requires developing job knowledge/skills.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
US Person due to import/export requirements. Ability to get a US Secret security clearance.
