Goddard is seeking an
Electromechanical Technician
II
to join our team. This position will be a great fit for candidates with a proven ability for qualifying, assembling, and testing mechanical and electrical components.
You will get to work with various prototypes, fixtures, and testing equipment built from the ground up. Our clients come from diverse industries:
Consumer Products, Medical devices, industrial automation, and robotics. Overseeing our 3D printing and machine shop, you willbe responsible for working closely with our engineering team to provide exceptional services and solutions for our clients. Depending on our client’s needs, work could be performed at our office or at ourclientlocations in the Boston or greater Boston area.
- Be on-site in the Wilmington office during the work week, unless working at aclientlocation
Directshipping and receiving activities as necessary
Work with the quality department toconductincoming receiving inspections using standard inspection equipment as required
Provide oversite as well asassistinmaintainingmanufacturing areas to ensure cleanliness and organization are maintained
Build and test assemblies and subcomponents for Engineering and Industrial Design groups following manufacturing process documentation
Support new product prototypebuilds as assigned
Assemble and repair precision electromechanical parts, assemblies, and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, test equipment
Have experience with panels, pulleys, switching mechanisms, motors, power supplies, pneumatic valves, and actuators
Conduct, under direction, tests, and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
Have experience withpower tools, and electrical safety
Overseeequipment maintenance and calibration per the Goddard QMSCreate and/or otherwisemaintainproduct buildrecords to ensure Device History Records (DHR) and quality documents areaccuratewhenrequired
Maintain a clean and safe workplace
Perform all work following quality standards and established safety procedure
Create ormodifybasic parts using a mill, lathe, and other shop tools
Manage orders of replacement tools/materials as needed
UseNetsuiteto create items,purchase orders, and otherwise manage inventory andbills of material
Work with Engineering toassistincreating, reviewing, and editingmanufacturing documentation(specifications, build plans)
Follow up with vendors for product builds
Maintain records of supply chainactivities
Assistin developing work instructions, or procedures as necessary to support the product build areas (inventory, metrology, testing, project space,manufacturing and clean room areas)
Assist with OSHA safety initiatives
Reportperformance metrics (safety, equipment, vendor) to the Goddardquality department
Provide document control support (assistthe quality department with regards to pulling numbers, and processing records in the Goddard QMS)
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter whocan manage their own time, and taskswith minimal supervision
Willingness to learn, and direct others as necessary
Strong written and verbal skills
High School Diploma, Vocational, or GEDwith a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electromechanical assembly. Experience inother technicalfields,facilitiesmanagementormedical devicemanufacturinga plus
Must have experience with both mechanical and electrical assemblies(building, troubleshooting)
Must haveexperiencehandlingelectronics/electricity
Experienced in theuse ofa multimeter, DC power supplies, Loctite/EFD dispensing units, and machine shop equipment (Milling and Lathe)
Must have a basic understanding of ESDand soldering
Ability to work withsmallcomponents; this role requires fine motor skills and dexterity
Mustdemonstratebasic computer skills, MS Word, and Excel. (…
