The Hubbell Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence is seeking a motivated, hands‑on Manufacturing Technician to join our growing team. This role supports CNC machining operations and a variety of manufacturing activities, including equipment maintenance, inspection, inventory management, material handling, shipping/receiving, and general shop operations.

Working closely with the lead CNC programmer, manufacturing engineers, and other manufacturing technicians, you will help execute production plans, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has CNC machining experience, strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.

  • Set up and operate CNC 3-Axis VMC to produce prototype and production parts.
  • Load programs, prepare and load tooling, and make minor machine offsets to maintain quality.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • Inspect finished parts using engineering drawings and metrology equipment.
  • Identify and report quality, equipment, and process issues.
  • Assist with fixture setup, work‑holding preparation, assembly, secondary operations, and part finishing.
  • Support manufacturing engineers with process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain tooling, raw material inventory, and work area organization.
  • Document production, inspection, and process data as required.
  • Support quality inspections and testing activities.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, material movement, and inventory control.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Follow established work instructions, operating procedures, and safety requirements.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • High school diploma, vocational training, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Skilled in using inspection tools and measurement equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Detail‑oriented with a commitment to quality.
  • Safe operation of shop equipment, hand tools, and material handling equipment.
  • Self‑motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Okuma CNC equipment and OSP controls.
  • Proficiency with MasterCAM, and able to make minor program modifications as needed.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, or Solid Works.
  • Understanding of GD&T and geometric tolerancing principles.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and material handling processes.
  • Ability to use metrology equipment and work within established quality systems.
  • Background in prototype, job shop, or low‑volume/high‑mix manufacturing environments.
