Salary Range: $45.00 To $50.00 Hourly

Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for all Nursing related services for each patient and for linking patients to the physicians and to outside medical resources. They participate in the Interdisciplinary Team Meetings when necessary to inform the clinical team about medical issues and are available for emergency medical situations. The Registered Nurse provides all services under the supervision of the Medical Director.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing medical & history screens, providing routine nursing care, and overseeing the medical and psychiatric management of the patient in coordination with the attending physician. They are also a member of the Treatment Team and provide input into the development of the Master Treatment Plan.

Education:

A minimum of an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Must have passed National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)

Experience:

A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a chemical dependency/psychiatric setting, preferably in a detox unit and/or inpatient, partial hospitalization and/or

outpatient setting preferred.

Licensure/Certification :

Licensed to practice nursing in Massachusetts; maintaining current licensure per state requirements as a Registered Nurse (RN). Maintains current CPR Certification.

Knowledge required before hire:

Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication, observation & Written skills.

Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws.

Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies. Knowledge of Workplace Violence.

Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Ethics

Knowledge of addictions.

Ability to interact with a multidisciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health.

Knowledge of the 12-Step Recovery Program. Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.

Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes.

Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual.

Alcohol and addictive drugs and their impact on the family.

Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary.

Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose.

Knowledge of First Aid and CPR.

Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including:

Confidentiality

Professional Code of Ethics

Discrimination

Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Position is required to work in a temperature-controlled environment; 80% - 90% of the time spent indoors. Potential ex . Potential exposure to airborne/blood-borne pathogens or other potentially infectious materials.

Physical

Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
