Position Summary

The Quality Inspector II is responsible for performing advanced inspections on incoming materials, in‑process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer specifications. The role focuses on following company procedures, recording inspection data, and identifying potential non‑conformances while working closely with production teams to maintain product quality.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Conduct basic visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products.
  • Perform difficult product inspection duties involving machined or manufactured parts with very close tolerances using precision measuring instruments and equipment.
  • Conduct first‑piece, in‑process, and final inspections for quality and appearance in accordance with customer/company specifications where general methods are available.
  • Use specified equipment such as comparators, toolmaker microscopes, contour readers, etc., following standard procedures and instructions.
  • Check drawings, prints, and specifications for dimensional requirements.
  • Examine products to obtain specified dimensions and determine acceptance or rejection of items.
  • Notify shop supervisor and line supervisor of failures to meet customer specifications.
  • Prepare inspection papers, accept/reject tags, and fill out shipping papers with each order.
  • Follow guides for sample or full inspection of product.
  • Notify supervisor of problems.
  • Maintain necessary records.
  • Move materials as necessary to perform duties.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Follow established company rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of quality inspector experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use mathematics and process complex drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.
