Tire Technician

Our Material Handling Group is seeking a full-time Tire Technician for our Wilmington, MA branch. Tire technicians will provide professional installation of industrial tires on material handling equipment. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

• Install tires on various material handling equipment, primarily forklifts
• Safely operate a single axle 26 foot box truck with a self contained industrial tire press
• Ensure work orders are filled out correctly
• Put away tires/stock in warehouse
• Load trucks daily with inventory needed, unload scrap at end of day
• Maintain company truck (wash/clean, check fluids, daily walk around inspection)
• Fill out monthly truck inspection/condition form
• Maintain professional appearance
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time

• Previous tire industry experience is preferred
• Experience operating a forklift, hydraulic tire press, pneumatic impact and torque wrench is preferred
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Valid Chauffeurs License with a clean driving record is required
• DOT Medical Certification required upon hire
• Basic language skills for reading, writing, and presenting information in one‑on‑one and small group situations
• Basic mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide two‑digit numbers and perform operations using units of money, weight, volume, and distance
• Intermediate reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations

• Regularly will use hands, talk/hear; frequently will stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally will climb or balance, taste/smell
• No special vision requirements
• Frequently will lift from 25 to 100+ pounds
• Regularly work near moving mechanical parts, vibration; frequently work in outdoor weather conditions; occasionally work in wet or humid conditions (non‑weather related), fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat (non‑weather related), risk of electrical shock

$30.00 to $34.00 per hour. This range is regarding base pay only and does not include benefits and potential bonuses. Overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographical location, skillset, education, and experience.
