Symbotic seeks a Manager for its Mobile Robotics Control team. We are looking for a creative and collaborative individual who thrives in an agile development environment and is passionate about solving real‑world robotics challenges.
What You'll Do- Lead the identification and resolution of problems in robotics control software for mobile platforms.
- Drive the development of simulation and validation tools to support robust software engineering.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with software teams to plan and deliver high‑quality software releases.
- Ensure project plans and delivery commitments are met on time.
- Coach, mentor, and lead a diverse group of 10‑15 software engineers, helping them to grow technically and professionally.
- Promote and instill best practices in software engineering development.
- Help attract and develop top‑tier talent through recruitment activities and workforce development.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing software development teams.
- M.S. or B.S. in Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience leading teams in an Agile development environment.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex robotics systems.
- Strong understanding of robotics control software and real‑time systems.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: perception, estimation, planning, or controls.
- Proficiency in C++ and familiarity with general‑purpose programming environments, scripting languages, data analysis tools, Linux, and version control systems such as Git.
- Hands‑on problem solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Up to 10% of travel may be required.
- Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client locations.
- The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi‑weekly basis.
- Base range: $ - $ (may vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience).
