About This Role We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage all Software Engineers within the Munitions group in the Textron Systems Weapons division.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels for Software Engineers, including:
    Managing full-time employees, co-ops, interns, and contractors. Forecasting needs to meet program and organizational requirements.
  • Drive Software Engineer development and engagement through:
    Performance management: establishing objectives, conducting reviews, and providing feedback. Facilitating regular communication: hosting meetings, resolving issues, and mentoring team members. Developing detailed skills planning and providing training opportunities to enhance capabilities.
  • Oversee customer deliverables, including:
    Review and approval of software architecture and requirements development. Ensuring deliverables meet internal quality expectations and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and improve departmental performance via:
    Analysis of quality metrics related to process compliance and overall team performance. Gathering and addressing feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience, OR Master's degree (M.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience. Strong knowledge of embedded and application Software Engineering processes, tools, and best practices. Familiarity with Agile Software Development methods and tools. Understanding of Model-Based Engineering practices. Experience with process improvement methodologies is preferred.
