Role Purpose
As a Project Manager
, you'll lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, serving as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams. You'll be responsible for driving project success by managing budgets, schedules, quality, safety, and client relationships while working closely with field leadership to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with the project superintendent to ensure that daily operations meet schedule and quality requirements.
- Responsible for all scopes of work, including subcontractor prequalification, bid solicitation, scope review, and subcontract execution.
- Oversees RFIs, submittals, contract documents, and project communication.
- Oversees the change order process with the owner and subcontractors, tracking changes accordingly.
- Manages project budgets, forecasting, change orders, pay applications, and financial reporting.
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting schedules to all parties, guaranteeing on-time project completion.
- Ensures that the punch list is completed and all closeout procedures are fulfilled to meet project closeout deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience with a general contractor.
- Proven success managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects while balancing client satisfaction, quality, safety, schedule, and profitability.
- Strong understanding of project budgeting and projections.
- Experience managing project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6 (or similar scheduling software), and construction cost management systems.
