We are seeking an Open Rank Pediatric Oncology Physician-Scientist to join the Division of Hematology-Oncology at the University of North Carolina. The division includes 17 faculty members and 16 nurse practitioners, focusing on hematopoietic and solid tumor treatments, with collaborations across the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, rated exceptional by the National Cancer Institute.
This position offers a blend of research and clinical responsibilities. The faculty member will lead an independent research program, contribute to clinical care, and participate in teaching postdoctoral fellows, residents, and students. The appointment will be to the G. Denman Hammon Professorship in Childhood Cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead an independent research program in pediatric cancer.
- Provide clinical care on the inpatient hematology-oncology unit.
- Participate in teaching and mentoring of trainees and students.
- Professional medical degree (MD or equivalent).
- Completion of a three-year advanced fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology.
- Board certification or eligibility in pediatric hematology-oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
- Eligibility for a North Carolina medical license.
