Acute Care Surgeon - Division of Acute Care Surgery - Wilmington, NCThe Division of Acute Care Surgery is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Acute Care Surgeon to join our high-volume, academically focused group on the coast of North Carolina. This full-time position includes clinical responsibilities in Emergency General Surgery, Trauma, and Surgical Critical Care, with additional opportunities for research, education, and quality improvement.
Our team consists of 7 full-time Acute Care Surgery faculty supported by surgical residents and advanced practice providers. The division handles approximately 3,800 trauma cases annually, with a similar volume of EGS patients. We are an ACS-verified Level II trauma center actively preparing for Level I verification.
The hospital is an 800-bed not-for-profit regional referral and teaching center, affiliated with the UNC School of Medicine, and offers a broad spectrum of medical and surgical specialties.Benefits Details

- Collaborate with other surgical subspecialties including MIS/Bariatrics, Colorectal, and Surgical Oncology Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
- Eligible for North Carolina medical licensure
- Demonstrated interest in teaching, research, and quality improvement
- Experience with rib plating and/or robotics preferred but not required
