A supportive and inclusive school in Darlington is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Worker to join their team. This 1:1 SEN Support Worker role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and making a real difference on an individual basis.

The successful 1:1 SEN Support Worker will work closely with a pupil requiring additional support, helping them to access learning and develop confidence within the classroom. As a 1:1 SEN Support Worker
, you will provide tailored support in line with the pupil’s individual needs, including academic, social and emotional development.

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN.
• Supporting learning activities and classroom engagement.
• Implementing individual education plans and support strategies.
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Assisting with communication and social development.
• Helping to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.

• Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
• Be patient, nurturing and resilient.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be confident supporting pupils with varying needs.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
• Have a fully checkable work history.

This 1:1 SEN Support Worker role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must satisfy safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
