Assistant Teacher - Early Childhood Education

Key Responsibilities- Support a classroom of up to 11 students alongside a dedicated teacher, ensuring a low student-to-teacher ratio and personalized attention
- Implement lessons using the STREAMin3 Curriculum, supporting the development of the whole child
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all children
- Be positive, approachable, and professional in interactions with parents/guardians, staff, students, and community members
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all student information
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects and celebrates the values and beliefs of all families
- Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in monthly staff meetings
- Be flexible and team-oriented, assisting with other responsibilities assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Director
- 2 years in Early Childhood Education preferred
- North Carolina Early Childhood Certification (EDU 119) preferred
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform all duties safely and effectively
- Meets all North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education (NCDCDEE) requirements to work in a licensed child care program
Our standard shifts are 7:00am - 4:00pm, 8:00am - 5:00pm, or 9:00am - 6:00pm, each including a one-hour paid break. We do our best to honor shift preferences and maintain consistency, though specific schedules cannot be guaranteed.
CompensationAnnual salary in the range of $29,000 - $32,000, based on education and experience.
