The CARE Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, implementation and evaluation of interpersonal violence prevention programming targeting specific student groups including Athletics, Fraternity and Sorority Life, UNCW's Cultural Centers, and registered student organizations. This position will serve as the key liaison between the CARE Office and student organizations, campus groups, and student leaders to promote healthy relationships, communication skills around consent, bystander intervention skills, and awareness of issues related to interpersonal violence.
The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building partnerships across campus to assist with delivering group-specific, tailored prevention programming, and engaging various student groups through outreach, education, and community-building. Duties will include conducting needs assessments/surveys, researching best practices, developing group-specific programming, and designing/implementing program evaluations and assisting CARE's Interpersonal Violence Prevention Coordinator in the implementation of CARE classroom presentations, tabling and other educational efforts as well as participating on violence prevention committees, coalitions and task forces including the UNCW Campus Programming Committee, the North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Campus Consortium, and the UNCW Peer Educator Coordinator Committee.
This position will also co-supervise CARE Peer Educators, Interns, and the CARE Allies with the Interpersonal Violence Prevention Coordinator in the planning and delivery of CARE programs, events, tabling and presentations
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in a related field such as public health, health education, criminology, psychology, or communication studies from an appropriate accredited institution.
* Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills.
* Experience in public speaking.
* Experience in prevention, experience with program planning.
* Ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse populations.

The UNCW Collaboration for Assault Response and Education is the campus initiative dedicated to intervening in a broad spectrum of violent behaviors, including sexual assault, relationship abuse, stalking, and harassment. We offer a comprehensive variety of violence prevention and relationship education programs, training, and educational campaigns to the UNCW campus. We respond to students, staff, and faculty who have been victimized, as well as those affected by someone else's experience with abuse or assault, by providing confidential, supportive services, including crisis response, individual advocacy, and coordination with both on-campus and off-campus resources.
