The NC New Teacher Support Program (NC NTSP) seeks to be a leaderin university-based induction support through the belief in and practice of transformative, intentional coaching to increase student achievement by improving beginning teacher effectiveness and retention. Under the direction of the UNC General Administration and in collaboration with institutions of higher education and Local Education Agencies, the mission of the NC NTSPis to support beginning teachers through consistent,individualized, in-the-moment coaching aligned to individualized growth and personalized professional development.

The NC NTSP Instructional Coach affiliated with the Watson Collegeof Education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington will manage a cohort of teachers assigned in one or more schools and/orschool districts in the southeast region and will be assigned tothese locations as needed. The primary role of the NC New Teacher Support Program Instructional Coach position is to support beginning teachers through the delivery of the program's three core services
1) professional learning institute,
2) individualized instructional coaching, and
3) aligned professional development.
