SCHOOL BUS DRIVER (PART-TIME)

DO YOU:

  • have a passion for quality school transportation and excellent customer service, the commitment to support student achievement, and the critical thinking skills that will set our staff and students up for success in college and beyond?
  • believe that potential, not zip code, should determine a student’s trajectory for their future?
  • believe in the power of being a girl and that all students have the potential to graduate from high school, go to college, and succeed in life?
  • possess the willingness to collaborate with your colleagues and our school families, doing “whatever it takes,” to make our vision for our students a reality?

If so, you are a great candidate to work at Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington, and we encourage you to apply for our current School Bus Driver position.

GLOW Academy is seeking to add a new member to our Transportation team to drive a daily route mornings and afternoons. This is an hourly, part-time position at GLOW Academy. The anticipated hours are Monday through Friday, 5:30-7:30am and 3:00-5:00pm.

At the heart of GLOW Academy is a focus on “whole girl” education. We seek to foster the growth of leadership and confidence in our students and build and sustain family support, all while engaging all of our students in a rigorous college preparatory program. This means that GLOW emphasizes the following areas to ensure that each girl has a successful 6-12 experience and continues on to college: leadership development, early college and career awareness, health and wellness and expanded opportunities in science, technology, math and the arts.

WHO

WE ARE LOOKING FOR TO JOIN THE GLOW TEAM

At GLOW we recognize that staff and teachers are the heart of the instructional program at our school. Therefore, the Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington is committed to the recruitment and retention of the highest caliber staff and educators dedicated to our mission and our students. We get excited about staff and educators who are fired up about learning; who want to spend their time discussing, preparing and immersing themselves in the work that they do;

and who yearn to work collaboratively with their colleagues to build a truly exceptional experience for students. We’re looking for educators who believe that family and community partnerships are crucial and who build relationships that support student learning and success. We value a hunger for feedback and the desire to engage in an ongoing process of reflection and growth for students and faculty.

Above all, we are looking for staff and educators who are passionate and committed to single gender education and our ultimate goal of closing the achievement gap for all our girls at GLOW.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a school bus driver, and feels competent to work in a diverse and ever-changing learning environment.
