Brief Summary of Work for this Position: The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in providing leadership for a NCAA Division I women's soccer program. Assists with all aspects of the women's soccer program and plays an integral part inthe day-to-day administrative responsibilities, daily team training, evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes, academic monitoring, and skill development. This position must work withinUNCW, CAA, and NCAA guidelines to provide student-athletes an exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships
- Assists the Head Coach in providing leadership for a NCAA Division I Women's Soccer program along with the overall coaching,management, and administration of the program
- Teach the mental and physical aspects of the game while preparing student-athletes for life after intercollegiate sports
- Assist with skill development of players and implement team strategies
- Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and university as well as the rules and regulations ofthe CAA and NCAA
- Assist the second assistant, team manager, and support staff while maintaining organization and administration of the program within a budget
- Track countable athletic related activities through ARMS online system
- Assist with team community service events and assist with team fundraising
- Assist with annual golf fundraiser to raise funds for UNCWWomen's Soccer program
- Participate in university, civic, and public relations activities for promotion of the sport
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Must be highly dependable, flexible, and available to work evenings and weekends
- Possess excellent customer service and communication skills withthe ability to interact professionally with the public
