Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry‑leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical‑based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications.
The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical‑based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Development Manager in Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) within the Blank making Development department.
Responsibilities- Supervise AMT section by motivating and developing a small team of engineers and technicians.
- Manage project expense targets.
- Guide the work of section personnel to achieve AMT development objectives.
- Contribute as an individual to project work via equipment design, process development, and targeted experimentation.
- Partner with Program Managers to lead, guide and execute work streams for the top priority business programs.
- Aid in justification and securing development capital to enable early‑stage equipment and process development.
- B.S. degree in technical/engineering field.
- Minimum 10 years in engineering and/or manufacturing professional environment.
- Experience in technical project leadership of multi‑disciplined teams.
- Functional supervisory experience in engineering or development roles.
- Experience developing new process technologies and ensuring that processes are designed for manufacturability.
- Experience in collaboration with MTE, S&T, and external subject matter expertise.
- Exposure to key aspects of what is required to deliver product quality including PQA, product/applications engineering, measurement systems, and supply chain.
- Strong presentation and written communication with senior leadership and peers.
- Experience in developing and validating value propositions and business cases.
- Experience writing ARs, driving capital efficiency.

Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including (but not limited to) geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
