Summary

Systems engineering is a cross‑functional discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. This role supports site engineering for the BWRX‑300 SMR system, coordinating detailed design and execution of a new plant project.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Mechanical Systems engineering activities supporting the BWRX‑300 SMR system design and coordination with site construction activities.
  • Analysis and design work supporting system requirements and specifications.
  • Review, coordinate and manage the disposition of Field Change Notices (FCN) and Non‑Conformances Reports (NCR).
  • Provide technical advice and support solving site problems.
  • Serve as a key member of the Systems Engineering leadership team and deliver all technical and engineering deliverables for the BWRX‑300 SMR design.
  • Liaise with customers in partnership with engineering leadership and Project Management.
  • Interface with cross‑functional teams and departments necessary to complete assigned system design activities.
  • Undertake corrective and preventive actions resulting from quality non‑compliance monitoring and audit programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear system design activities including development of process flow diagrams, thermodynamic and heat/flow calculations, and engineering specifications.
Desired Characteristics
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
  • Ability to function in a dynamic design environment and manage multiple tasks and projects while upholding safety principles.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs and projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Ontario P.Eng license (Canadian applicants only).
Compensation and Benefits

Pay range for Canadian‑based position: $130,000 – $180,000

CAD. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, 401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions, tuition assistance, paid parental leave, disability benefits, life insurance, paid holidays and flexible time off.
