What You’ll Do- Spend most of your time on the manufacturing floor - installing, debugging, and starting up equipment and automated systems
- Supervise engineers, maintenance staff, and outside contractors through demolition, installation, testing, and debug
- Troubleshoot equipment issues hands‑on and direct techs and trades to replace components and execute fixes
- Redesign mechanical components to cut installation costs, resolve interferences, and fix design gaps
- Build and manage project plans that keep timelines moving without compromising safety or quality
- Work directly with external system integrators and machine builders to deliver integrated equipment on time and on budget
- Redline and update installation checklists, machine specs, part lists, and drawing packages
- Procure and expedite materials for new or modified equipment builds
- Train techs and trades on new equipment installation procedures
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent - plus 3+ years of hands‑on manufacturing experience
- Comfortable using hand tools, measurement devices, and alignment equipment directly on machinery
- Solid grasp of mechanical drive trains, pneumatic and electrical actuators, and process piping systems including P&IDs
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics for troubleshooting
- Able to manage multiple work streams in a fast‑paced, team‑based, safety‑first environment
- Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or MS Project
- Project management background - scope development, budgeting, scheduling
- Familiarity with optical fiber or cable manufacturing processes
- Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines (mechanical, process, IT)
