Job Description Summary
Plant Systems Integration engineering is a cross‑functional engineering discipline centered on a unique approach, mindset, and process. All integration activities consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user’s needs. Plant Integration executes a robust process of conceptualization, design, and optimization of systems. This consists of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs, and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed.
Plant Integration is an essential function that proceeds from concept to production to operation. Plant Integration impacts departmental operations and is responsible for planning and execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
- Conduct overall product, system, and component integration activities.
- All design and deployment activities are concerned with how to integrate in order to deliver the best product(s) for the user.
- Conduct activities with product and system requirements, plant-level specifications, and design requirement flow down.
- Facilitate and drive interface between multiple areas of the organization including Project, Product, Engineering, Sales, Licensing, etc.
- Have knowledge of best practices and how different areas integrate with others.
- Use judgment and have some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated challenges with technical variety.
- Use technical experience and analytical thinking.
- Use multiple internal and external sources outside of Plant Integration team to arrive at decisions.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
- Explain information; develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering capacity, preferably in nuclear power.
- Strong communicator with excellent writing and verbal skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in customer/partner facing environment.
- Strong technical experience in commercial nuclear power generation, specifically boiling water reactors.
- Knowledge of BWRX‑300 highly desired.
- Experience integrating highly technical and diverse engineering teams and functions.
- Cross‑functional collaboration experience.
- Knowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear).
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Ability to drive initiatives and impromptu efforts.
- Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA‑1 and ISO 9000).
- Strong organization skills.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Prior experience in project delivery and working within a matrix environment.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure.
- Master or doctoral degree in an engineering or technical discipline may be considered a plus.
Preferred work location is the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, and Atlanta, GA.

Pay range is between $98,400.00 and $. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
