We are seeking a hands-on Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician to support engineering and system development activities through the assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control equipment.
In this role, you will build and integrate components such as sensors, transmitters, and control panels; perform bench-level and functional testing; and assist with prototype evaluations. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a laboratory environment, takes pride in precision craftsmanship, and is eager to expand their knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and system testing.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and build I&C system components, panels, and assemblies using engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
- Perform bench-level testing of sensors, transmitters, controllers, and signal conditioning equipment.
- Support system integration by wiring, configuring, and verifying I&C connections and test setups.
- Assist with prototype builds, hardware troubleshooting, and calibration activities.
- Execute calibration and verification procedures using standard laboratory equipment.
- Document assembly and test results, including build records, test data, and nonconformance reports.
- Maintain laboratory organization, tool control, and a safe working environment.
- Support functional and environmental testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, and signal verification.
- Follow Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards and laboratory protocols.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to identify and resolve design or testing issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by updating procedures and work instructions.
- Prepare instrumentation and test setups for system-level or field testing activities.
- Experience with electrical/electronic assembly, wiring, and testing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Hands‑on experience with soldering, cable fabrication, and harness assembly.
- Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and related diagnostic tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented laboratory environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, or a related technical field is preferred.
