About this role
This analysis engineering position supports the development and implementation of energy and water conservation measures (ECM) for Energy Saving Performance Contracts (ESPC).
Under limited supervision, this person will identify and quantify energy conservation opportunities associated with Lighting, Lighting Controls and Day lighting, Plumbing and Water Use.
Responsibilities include site investigations, reviewing field audits, performing energy savings calculations, developing cost estimates and written descriptions of energy conservation measures in support of ESPC proposals.
Other responsibilities will include closing out installed ECMs with their re-analysis based upon AsBuilts and M&V conditions and the creation of closeout and post-installation reports (PIR).
Key Responsibilities- Collect detailed information on the existing lighting, plumbing systems and document critical performance variables (e.g., existing equipment type, condition and performance criteria, operating schedules, and functionality of the space).
- Perform data entry and quality control of audit.
- Analyze utility bill data to determine customer energy performance parameters.
- Identify and quantify energy conservation opportunities associated with Lighting, Plumbing systems in ESPC projects.
- Provide detailed energy savings calculations for the development of ESPC projects.
- In conjunction with the LWS Designers, establishes design criteria by identifying the customer’s needs, preferences and experiences while verifying the company’s overall development strategy.
- Recommend final design based on the design criteria and performance measures.
- Write detailed ECM descriptions and supporting attachments to be included in ESPC proposal submissions.
- Establish measurement & verification (M&V) criteria, inducing performance variables to be verified by the ESPC project.
- Write detailed M&V plans to be included in ESPC proposal submissions.
- Prepare detailed Bill of Materials and solicit bids from qualified vendors.
- Analyze bids and make recommendations to senior management.
- Write detailed post-installation reports (PIR) documenting project performance and results in comparison to ESPC proposals.
- Travel 25%
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 1+ years of professional working experience handling data and/or analytical problem solving through calculations.
- 1+ years of experience working with MS Excel.
- Experience in an energy efficiency technical discipline demonstrating superb problem-solving skills and attention-to-detail.
- Lighting and/or Water conservation experience.
- Degree in an Engineering and/or Science discipline.
- Proficient in MS Office software – Excel & Word (other programming or database software preferred).
- Professional level writing and oral communication skills.
- Experience working with databases (for example SQL, Microsoft Access, etc.).
