Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Design Manager of Water and Wastewater local to the Wilmington, NC area. This role serves as the technical steward of large municipal water and wastewater projects, driving technical delivery in close partnership with the Project Manager while maintaining a clear split of responsibilities. The Project Technical Leader leads engineering design efforts for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, and related infrastructure, ensuring quality control, regulatory compliance, and mitigation of rework.
This individual acts as the engineer of record, performing technical reviews, stamping designs, and conducting site evaluations to ensure alignment with project and location requirements. The role emphasizes preemptive and proactive technical leadership to keep teams on schedule. The Project Technical Leader also contributes to proposals and may participate in client meetings to present technical solutions. Additionally, this role mentors and trains junior engineers, supports technical knowledge development, and represents the firm through technical publications and industry engagement.

Skillsand Requirements
- 6-10 years of related experience
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or related field
- Prior experience working with drinking water projects
- Prior consulting/private sector experience
