Position Overview /Duties
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) announcement for a Supervisory Interdisciplinary (Environmental Resources) in the South Atlantic Division, Wilmington District, Planning, Programs and Project Management Division, Planning and Environmental Branch.
Duties
- Serves as Supervisor Environmental Resources, responsible for leading a diverse team to complete a wide range of tasks to meet all regulatory requirements and obtain all permits, approvals, concurrences and certifications needed to meet mission and project needs.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to produce Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements and Records of Environmental Consideration for water resource or other projects.
- Apply governing public laws such as the Clean Water Act (CWA), Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) & National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) to project deliverables to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
- Perform review (technical and/or policy) on environmental compliance documents to ensure all environmental procedures and requirements are addressed.
- Identify and evaluate appropriate environmental commitments, terms and conditions, or mitigation requirements for major water resource or other projects, to meet requirements of all appropriate environmental laws and regulations.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Minimum Education Requirement
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Archeology, Biology, Economics, Environmental Engineering, Geology or Physical Science. The program must: lead to a degree in a school with at least one program accredited by ABET. Degree must be documented on a transcript.

Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes working as a project manager, biologist, or environmental specialist for an organization's regulatory or environmental compliance program; working with and complying with public laws such as the Clean Water Act (CWA) or Rivers and Harbors Act (RHA).
